January
- Held the first annual meeting of BHSI's Board of Directors after incorporation in the fall of 2016.
- Updated and revised many webpages for 2017.
- Balloted changes to ASTM's F-1447 bicycle helmet standard.
April
- Solicited presentations and prepared agendas for the May ASTM meetings.
May
- Attended ASTM's meetings in Toronto, chairing the technical meeting.
- Sent an Update newsletter: Pro-Tec City Lite fails testing and BHSI publishes dishwasher test results.
June
- Sent an apparently non-compliant helmet sample to CPSC
July
- Balloted changes to ASTM's F1447 bicycle helmet standard.
Sept
- Presented at a workshop at the International Cycle Safety Conference in Davis on helmet rating programs.
- Attended the Interbike trade show in Las Vegas and conducted 36 helmet brand interviews.
- Sent an Update on Pro-Tec recalls City Lite and Street Lite helmets.
- Reorganized BHSI's web domains, revised many webpages and converted to a full https secure and encrypted website.
October
- Rolled out a revised format for BHSI's 500+ webpages.
- Was quoted several times in a NY Times article on helmets by Jane Brody that got wide circulation.
- Attended an ICPHSO workshop on CPSC policies and recalls.
November
- Attended a Virginia Tech Symposium in Atlanta on their helmet rating programs.
- Attended ASTM meetings in Atlanta, chairing the technical meeting.
